  1. "Gathering with brethren is of two kinds. The first is a gathering for the mere companionship of one's nature and to pass the time; this kind of gathering does more harm than good, and the least of its evils is that it corrupts the heart and wastes the hour. The second is gathering with them to help one another toward the causes of salvation, and to counsel one another to truth and to patience — and this is among the greatest and most beneficial of prizes."
