Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Joyful Muslims Audiobook application and the joyfulmuslims.com website (together, the "Service"), operated by Joyful Muslims (EMV-registered, CVR 46387996).

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Joyful Muslims provides an Islamic audiobook library with free and premium tiers. Our catalog includes modern English translations of classical Arabic texts, produced independently by our editorial team.

3. Subscriptions & Pricing

We offer the following subscription plans:

• Free: Every book in the library is open to read and listen — listening is capped at 5 hours per month.
• Joyful+ ($6.99/month or $59.99/year): Unlimited listening, plus Masterclasses, StudyKit, the Living Manuscript follow-along, the Apple Watch app, widgets, prayer reminders, and offline downloads. The annual plan includes a 3-day free trial when purchased in the iOS app; annual purchased on this website is billed immediately.

Joyful+ can be purchased in three places, and the one you use determines who bills you and where you cancel. In the iOS app, payment is charged to your Apple ID on confirmation of purchase, and you manage or cancel in your App Store account settings. In the Android app, payment is charged through Google Play, and you manage or cancel in your Play subscriptions. On this website, payment is taken by Stripe from the card you provide, and you manage or cancel from the billing portal we link you to. In every case the subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.

Book Packages (One-time Purchase)

Book Packages are downloadable PDF versions pairing the original Arabic text with our complete unabridged English translation, available as a one-time per-book purchase to every user regardless of subscription tier — on the web bookstore (Stripe checkout); purchases appear on the BOOKS shelf in the app. In-app Key purchases arrive in a future update. These Terms, together with the Subscription Terms, govern those purchases.

4. Content & Copyright

The original Arabic texts in our catalog are in the public domain. Our modern English translations, audio productions, narrations, editorial arrangements, chapter structuring, and all supplementary materials (including the Living Manuscript) are original derivative works and the exclusive intellectual property of Joyful Muslims, protected under Danish and international copyright law.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from our content without written permission.

5. User Accounts

You may create an account using Sign in with Apple or email. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Share, redistribute, or publicly perform our audio content
• Attempt to circumvent subscription restrictions or access controls
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Reverse engineer or decompile the App

7. AI-assisted answers

The "Ask the library" box on this website generates answers from the texts in our library with the help of a large language model. These answers are for educational purposes only and should not be taken as religious rulings (fatwa). Always consult qualified scholars for religious guidance. The App itself contains no AI chat as of version 3.1 (September 2026). See our AI Disclaimer for how the feature works, its limitations, and when to ask a real scholar instead.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. Our translations, while carefully prepared, may contain imperfections — we welcome corrections at [email protected].

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Joyful Muslims shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by Danish law. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Denmark.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
