Delete Your Account

Option 1 — Delete from within the app

This is the fastest path. Your account is removed immediately on device, and server-side deletion completes within 30 days.

1. Open Joyful Muslims on your iPhone or iPad
2. Tap Settings (gear icon, top right)
3. Scroll to Account → Delete Account
4. Confirm with your Apple ID (Sign in with Apple users) or password

Option 2 — Email us

If you no longer have access to the app, or prefer to delete by email, write to [email protected].

Include the email address or Apple ID associated with your account. We will verify your identity, delete the account within 30 days, and send a written confirmation.

What gets deleted

• Your profile (name, email, user identifier)
• Listening progress, bookmarks, and streaks
• JM Scholar AI conversation history
• Push-notification device registrations
• Local app caches and downloads on your device

What we must retain

Certain records must be kept under Danish and EU law, even after account deletion:

• Purchase and tax records — retained for 5 years (Danish Bookkeeping Act). These contain transaction identifiers, not personal profile data.
• Anonymised usage metrics — aggregate analytics with no link to you personally remain in our statistics.

Subscriptions are separate

Deleting your Joyful Muslims account does not cancel an active Apple subscription. To stop billing, open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your Apple device, or visit App Store Subscriptions, and cancel Joyful Muslims.

GDPR rights

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation, you additionally have the right to access, correct, and export your data. Write to [email protected] with the request. We respond within 30 days.
