Subscription Terms

1. Plans and pricing

The following subscription plans are available. Prices shown are in US dollars; equivalents are charged in your local currency at the prevailing App Store rate.

One-time purchases

Book Packages — downloadable PDFs pairing the original Arabic text with our unabridged English translation, available à la carte to every listener regardless of subscription tier — are one-time purchases per book. They are not subscriptions and do not auto-renew. On the web bookstore they are purchased through Stripe; in the app they will be unlockable with Keys (purchased through Apple's App Store) once Keys launch in an upcoming update. On the web bookstore at /library/books they cost $4.99 each, paid through Stripe (see section 8).

2. Billing and payment

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account upon confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions are billed at the start of each billing period (monthly or annual, as selected).
• Prices may change. Any price change is communicated in advance and requires your explicit consent before it takes effect, as required by Apple.
• Taxes and VAT are calculated and collected by Apple according to the billing country on file for your Apple ID.

3. Auto-renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before the end of the period, at the current subscription rate.

4. Cancellation

You can cancel anytime. Cancellation stops the next auto-renewal — you keep access to the paid features until the end of the already-paid period.

4. Select Joyful Muslims
5. Tap Cancel Subscription

You can also manage subscriptions at App Store Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

5. Free trials and introductory offers

Where a free trial or introductory price is offered, it converts to a paid subscription at the regular price at the end of the trial period unless you cancel before the trial ends. Introductory offers are available once per Apple ID.

6. Refunds (App Store purchases)

All subscription refunds are handled by Apple. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with the Apple ID used for the purchase. Apple's decision is final; we cannot issue refunds on Apple's behalf. For billing disputes involving consumer protection rights in the EU, contact us at [email protected] and we will assist where we are able.

7. EU right of withdrawal (App Store purchases)

As a consumer in the European Union (including Denmark), you have a 14-day right of withdrawal under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (Directive 2011/83/EU, Article 16(m)).

Express consent and waiver. When you subscribe, you expressly request that access to the digital content begins immediately. You acknowledge that, as permitted by the Directive, your 14-day right of withdrawal is waived once playback or download begins. This waiver is also surfaced directly on the paywall at the moment of purchase, matching the text below:

If you have not yet begun listening, downloading, or otherwise using the subscription content, you may withdraw by emailing [email protected] within 14 days of purchase. Refunds in that window are processed by Apple on our behalf; we will confirm and assist you with the Apple refund flow.

8. Web purchases (Stripe)

In addition to App Store purchases, we sell directly on joyfulmuslims.com with payment processed by Stripe: the Joyful+ membership ($6.99/month or $59.99/year) on /joyful-plus, and Book Packages ($4.99, one-time per book) on /library/books. Apple is not a party to web purchases; the rules in sections 2–7 do not apply to them — this section does.

Billing and payment

• Payment is collected by Stripe at checkout (card or Apple Pay). We never see or store your full card details; Stripe does, as our payment processor.
• A web subscription is billed at the start of each billing period (monthly or annual, as selected) and renews automatically until cancelled.
• Book Packages are one-time payments — no subscription, no auto-renewal.
• Prices are in US dollars. Where tax applies, it is shown at checkout.

How a web purchase reaches your account

Your purchase is matched to the email address you use at Stripe checkout. If no Joyful Muslims account exists on that email, we create one for you. Sign in to the app with that email — Sign in with Apple works if it is the same email, or use "Forgot password" to set a password — and your membership or Book Package unlocks. If anything doesn't appear, email [email protected].

Cancelling a web subscription

You can cancel anytime. Cancellation stops the next auto-renewal — you keep access to the paid features until the end of the already-paid period.

• Email us — always works: write to [email protected] from your checkout email and we cancel promptly, confirming by reply.
• Stripe billing portal — where your signed-in account offers billing management, it opens Stripe's secure portal, in which you can cancel or update your card yourself. The portal requires signing in to the account that holds the web subscription.

Deleting the app does not cancel a web subscription.

Refunds for web purchases

Unlike App Store purchases, web purchases are billed by us, so we can act directly. If something has gone wrong with your purchase, email [email protected] and we will look into it promptly. Nothing in this section limits your statutory consumer rights.

EU right of withdrawal (web purchases)

As a consumer in the European Union (including Denmark), you have a 14-day right of withdrawal for web purchases.

• Joyful+ subscription: you may withdraw within 14 days of purchase by emailing [email protected] from your checkout email. We will cancel the subscription and refund the payment.
• Book Packages: these are digital content delivered immediately after purchase. If you are unhappy with a Book Package you bought on the web, contact us within 14 days and we will make it right.

9. What subscriptions include

Subscription benefits are as described in-app and on our Plans page at the time of purchase. We may add content and features to your plan at no additional cost. We do not retroactively remove titles you already have access to on your current plan without replacement, except where required by a rights-holder request.

10. Accounts and eligibility

App Store subscriptions require a valid Apple ID; web purchases require only a valid email address, and both require an active Joyful Muslims account to use the paid features. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to subscribe. Subscriptions are for personal, non-commercial use only.

11. Support

12. Governing law

These subscription terms are governed by Danish law. Nothing in these terms limits consumer rights you have under the mandatory law of your country of residence.
