Volume One
Ibn al-Qayyim · Madārij al-Sālikīn
  1. "As اللّٰه says in سُورَة النِّسَاء: "Those who wait to see what happens to you. If you gain a victory from اللّٰه, they say, 'Were we not with you?' But if the disbelievers have a success, they say, 'Did we not gain an advantage over you, and did we not protect you from the believers?' اللّٰه will judge between you on the Day of Resurrection, and never will اللّٰه give the disbelievers over the believers a way.""

  2. "اِبْن عَبَّاس explained that اللّٰه found the hearts of the believers slow, so He admonished them thirteen years after the revelation of the القُرْآن. اللّٰه also says in سُورَة المُؤْمِنُون: "Certainly will the believers have succeeded: They who are during their prayer humbly submissive.""

  3. "However, such harm will be followed by honor, love, and respect for you, and praise from them, the believers, and the Lord of the worlds. Agreeing with them will lead to humiliation, hatred, and blame from them, the believers, and the Lord of the worlds."

Book 22: The Book of Disciplining the Soul

  1. "Truly, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was sent only to perfect noble morals, as he said. The Qur'an alludes to these qualities in describing believers: "The believers are only those who have believed in Allah and His Messenger and then doubt not but strive with their wealth and their lives in the way of Allah."

  2. "let him speak good or remain silent" is agreed upon and is part of the aforementioned hadith. It highlights that the attributes of believers are rooted in good character. The Messenger of God, peace be upon him, said: "The most complete in faith among the believers are those with the best character.""

  3. "He continues, "They are the heirs. In another verse, He says: "Those who turn to God in repentance, who worship Him and praise Him. And He gives good tidings to the believers. Furthermore, Allah says: "The believers are only those who, when God is mentioned, their hearts tremble."

Book 14: The Lawful and the Unlawful

  1. "Second, property taken by force from those without sanctity, such as spoils, booty, and other properties of non-believers and combatants. This is lawful for Muslims if a fifth is extracted and distributed justly among rightful recipients, provided it wasn’t taken from non-believers granted protection or peace."

  1. "One must believe in the intercession of the Prophets, then the scholars, then the martyrs, and then the rest of the believers according to their rank and status before Allah. Whoever remains from the believers and does not have an intercessor will be brought out by the grace of Allah."

Book 25: Condemnation of Rancor and Envy

  1. "This discontent is a transgression against the core of monotheism and a blemish on faith. Furthermore, envy leads you to deceive fellow believers, forsake their counsel, and oppose Allah’s friends and prophets, aligning instead with Iblis and disbelievers who wish harm upon believers."

  2. "the zeal of the Age of Ignorance, but Allah sent down His tranquility upon His Messenger and the believers. He condemned the disbelievers for their zeal, which stemmed from wrongful anger, and commended the believers for the tranquility Allah sent upon them."

  2. "a sign of his kingship is that the Ark will come to you, in which is tranquility from your Lord.'" The second is when اللّٰه sent tranquility upon His Messenger and the believers: "Then اللّٰه sent down His tranquility upon His Messenger and upon the believers.""

  3. "The concept of satisfaction or contentment is shared among people, as both believers and non-believers can be content with divine decree. The ultimate form of this contentment is submission to the will and decree of اللّٰه."

  1. "wealth also does not cover it, then ask the Quraysh, but from no other than them, and settle this debt for me. Then go to Umar ibn al-Khattab, mother of the believers Aisha, and say, Umar sends you greetings, do not say leader of the believers, for I am not"
