Bay'at al-'Aqaba

The pledges of 'Aqaba — two pledges given by representatives of Yathrib (later Madinah) to the Prophet ﷺ, the second of which committed them to receive him in their city and defend him as they would defend their own families.
As understood in the classical tradition of Ibn Kathir and the scholars of his school.
