Khalifa
خَلِيفَةDefinition
Vicegerent. Allah's word in Qur'an 2:30: 'I am placing on the earth a khalifa.' Ibn Kathir's Vol 1 grounds the entire human story in this designation: Adam and his descendants are tasked with succession, governance, and stewardship under Allah's authority.
