Millat Ibrahim
Definition
Millat Ibrahim — the way or creed of Ibrahim — is the pure monotheistic tradition that the Quran presents as the common thread linking all authentic Abrahamic faiths and as the standard to which the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his community are commanded to return. It is characterized by the worship of Allah alone, complete submission to divine will, rejection of all false deities, and the willingness to follow divine guidance wherever it leads regardless of social cost. Ibn Kathir presents millat Ibrahim as both a historical reality (the original faith of Ibrahim) and a living obligation (the Islam that the final prophet came to restore after centuries of distortion).
