Siddiq
Definition
Siddiq — the utterly truthful — is the Quranic title bestowed upon Idris, indicating a level of sincerity in which the inner reality and outer expression are in complete and unbreakable correspondence. The siddiq does not merely refrain from lying — their entire being is oriented toward truth in thought, word, intention, and act. This title places Idris among the highest category of believers, those whose inner reality perfectly matches their outward proclamation of faith. In the Quranic hierarchy of spiritual stations, the siddiqin rank just below the prophets and above the martyrs and the righteous — the highest station attainable by those who are not themselves prophets.
