Al-Bāsiṭ
الْبَاسِطُThe Expander
Al-Bāsiṭ (الْبَاسِطُ) is the 21st of the 99 Names of Allah. It means "The Expander". He who expands and gives without measure.

"the Exalted, in every moving and still thing. Thus, one witnesses the connection of movement with His name Al-Basit (the Expander) and the connection of stillness with His name Al-Qabid (the Constrictor), witnessing His uniqueness, glory be to Him, in expansion and contraction. As for understanding His management of separation and union, it means that the observer is knowledgeable about the places of separation and union."

"This degree is specific to those in the state of witnessing, where expansion and joy are predominant. The person in this state is connected to the name of اللّٰه, "Al-Basit" (The Expander), and is warned against the impurity of audacity. This audacity can lead one away from the etiquette of servitude and into excessive claims, like saying, "Glory be to me," which takes one out of the etiquette of servitude."
