Al-Karīm

How the scholars invoke Al-Karīm.

1. "'Who follows you?' He said: 'A free man and a slave.' And with him were Abu Bakr and Bilal." Regarding the kunyah of Bilal, there are three opinions: Abu Abd al-Karim, Abu Abdullah, and Abu Amr. This was transmitted by the scholar Abu al-Qasim. It was said that those who narrated from him include: Abu Bakr, Umar, Usama ibn Zayd, Ibn Umar, Ka'b ibn Ujrah, Al-Sunabihi, Al-Aswad, Abu Idris al-Khawlani, Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib, Ibn Abi Layla, Al-Hakam ibn Mina, and Abu Uthman al-Nahdi."

2. "It was also compiled by our teacher Abu Muhammad Abdullah ibn Jafar ibn Darstawayh in the news of Qus. He mentioned that Abd al-Karim ibn al-Haytham al-Dair al-Quli narrated it from Sa'id ibn Shabib and others. However, some scholars like Yahya ibn Ma'in and Abu Hatim al-Razi denied the reliability of certain narrators in this chain, while others accused them of fabricating the hadith."
