البَغَوِيّ noted this was the view of أَبُو هُرَيْرَة, مُجَاهِد, and الحَسَن, and it was also narrated by عَطَاء from اِبْن عَبَّاس. عَبْدُ اللّٰه بْن عَمْر بْن العَاص stated that minor sins are those less than associating partners with اللّٰه.
