The Wholesome Rain — a heavy, beneficial, life-giving rain; used as the central metaphor for good speech and remembrance of Allah in the book's title. The image is drawn from Quran 14:24-25, where good speech is likened to a tree whose roots are firm and whose branches reach the sky, producing fruit in every season. Ibn al-Qayyim chose this title to convey that dhikr is not a light sprinkle of spiritual comfort but a downpour — abundant, nourishing, transformative — available to every heart that opens itself to receive it. Rain transforms barren land into living gardens; dhikr performs the same transformation on the arid heart.
