Al-Muʾmin

How the scholars invoke Al-Muʾmin.

1. "me, greet her, and ask for Umar's permission. If she grants it, bury me, if not, return me to the Muslims' burial grounds. And when Um al-Mumin in Hafsa and the women came to veil him, we rose to leave, but then entered. We heard her weeping. People asked, Make a will, O leader of the believers, appoint a successor. He said, I see no one more eligible for this matter than these individuals who were pleased by the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, naming Ali, Uthman, Zubayr, Talha, Sa'd, and Abd al-Rahman, and involve Abdullah ibn Umar, though he shall have no say except to comfort them. 2. "Compose yourself, for I shall work with you with kindness, and grant you such favors that the people of your land will hear and come to you. He then asked about my homeland. I told him it was the Maghrib, and he replied, The land of Abd al-Mumin. To which I affirmed, Yes. With each courteous remark he made, I kissed his hand seven times in total, until he gifted me a robe, and I departed."

3. "In Al-Muminun there is one name, O Generous. In An-Nur there are three names, O Truth, O Clear, O Light. In Al-Furqan, in Saba, in Al-Mumin there are four names, O Forgiver, O Acceptor, O Severe, O Possessor of Power. In Ad-Dariyat there are three names, O Provider, O Possessor of Strength, O Firm. In At-Tur, O Bestower, in Iqtarabat, O Powerful."
