Al-Wahhāb

How the scholars invoke Al-Wahhāb.

1. "and Muslim. Al-Bukhari mentioned that Ibn al-Hadi narrated from al-Zuhri. Al-Hakim clarified that al-Bukhari intended to say that Ibn al-Hadi narrated from Abd al-Wahhab ibn Bakht from al-Zuhri. Ahmad narrated from Amr ibn Salama al-Huzayy through al-Laith ibn Sa'd, from Yazid ibn al-Hadi, from al-Zuhri, from Abu Hurairah. I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, say, I saw Amr ibn Amir dragging his intestines in the fire, and he was the first to set free the sacrificial animals and to establish the practice of the al-Bahira. Al-Hakim noted that Abd al-Wahhab ibn Bakht was not mentioned in this chain, and Allah knows best. Ahmad also reported,"

2. "and Zakariyya al-Saji also related it from the hadith of Abd al-Wahhab ibn Musa ibn Abd al-Aziz ibn Umar ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf, and from al-Zuhri as well, from Abu al-Zinad, from Hisham ibn Urwa, from his father, from Aisha, who said: My father went out with his sword drawn, riding upon his mount, toward the valley of al-Qassa. Then Ali ibn Abi Talib came and took hold of the reins of his mount and said: Where are you going, O successor of the Messenger of God?"

3. "He granted them this, and bound the banners for eleven commanders, as we shall set forth in detail shortly, if God wills. Al-Daraqutni related, from the hadith of Abd al-Wahhab ibn Musa al-Zuhri, from Malik, from Ibn Shihab, from Said ibn al-Musayyab, from Ibn Umar, who said: When Abu Bakr set out for al-Qassa and had settled upon his mount, Ali ibn Abi Talib took hold of its reins and said: Where are you going, O successor of the Messenger of God?"

4. "This chain is acceptable, but I do not know the condition of Ahmad ibn Tariq. Allah knows best. Another hadith, Abdullah ibn Imam Ahmad said, I found in the book of my father in his handwriting, Abd al-Mutalli ibn Abd al-Wahhab narrated to us, Yahya ibn Sa'id al-Umawi narrated to us, Mujalid from Abu al-Wadak, who said, Abu Sa'id said, Do the Khawarij acknowledge the Dajjal? I said, No."
