Three problems with Islamic shirts
It shouts
Problem Big slogans in loud fonts. You end up owning it and never wearing it.
This one One sentence, set like a page of a book. Read across a room it looks like nothing; read up close it says something.
You can't wear it everywhere
Problem Āyāt and the names of Allah printed on a shirt that goes into every room of the house.
This one Neither. It is a scholar's sentence about knowledge — nothing on it you would be uneasy wearing anywhere.
The words are invented
Problem A quote written for a shirt, or one attributed to a scholar who never said it.
This one A real line from al-Ghazālī's Book of Knowledge, in the same translation we recorded — the author and the book are printed inside the collar. You can go and hear the chapter it sits in.
And it is printed on a light shirt on purpose: dark garments need a white underbase under the ink, which is what makes printed tees feel stiff and plasticky. This one does not have it.
