Al-Bāriʾ
الْبَارِئُThe Originator
Al-Bāriʾ (الْبَارِئُ) is the 12th of the 99 Names of Allah. It means "The Originator". The One who brings into being from nothing. In the Qurʾān it occurs in Al-Ḥashr 59:24.

"He did not, from the time He created creation, gain the name al-Khaliq, nor did He, by His bringing the creatures into being, gain the name al-Bari He possesses the meaning of Lordship (rububiyyah) while there was no one under lordship, and the meaning of Creator (al-Khaliq) while there was no creation. And just as He is the Reviver of the dead after He gives life, He deserved this name before He revived them, so too He deserved the name Creator before He created them."
