Al-Wājid

How the scholars invoke Al-Wājid.

1. "brought it into existence in a certain state, and then found it in that state after creating it. Regarding 'Al-Wajid' among His names, it means the one who possesses wealth and richness, the opposite of the one who lacks. It is similar to 'Al-Muwsi', the one with abundance and capacity, as اللّٰه says in سُورَة الذَّارِيَات: "And the heaven We constructed with strength, and indeed, We are [its] expander," meaning possessing vastness, power, and dominion."

2. "As He also says in سُورَة البَقَرَة: "Provide for them, the wealthy according to his means and the poor according to his means." The name 'Al-Wajid' is included among His names, but not 'Al-Mujid', as 'Al-Mujid' is an attribute of action, meaning the giver of existence, like 'Al-Muhyi', the giver of life. This action is not mentioned in the actions of God in the القُرْآن or the السُّنَّة, so the phrase 'God created such and such' is used instead."
