What is Futūḥ al-Ghayb?
Futūḥ al-Ghayb gathers the spiritual discourses of Shaykh ʿAbd al-Qādir al-Jīlānī (d. 561 AH / 1166 CE), the great saint of Baghdad. Each discourse is a short address on one matter of the path: sincerity, patience, poverty of spirit, trust in God, and drawing near to Him.
For centuries these addresses have been the etiquette-book of the seeker — ādāb al-sulūk, the manners of the road. They are direct, practical, and meant to be heard the way they were first delivered: spoken aloud.
Is there an English audiobook of Futūḥ al-Ghayb?
Yes. Joyful Muslims publishes the complete work as an English audiobook (about seven hours), in two editions — the faithful Translation and an easy, flowing Retelling — with a word-synced bilingual transcript.
Is it free to listen?
