What is al-Fawāʾid?
al-Fawāʾid — "Points of Benefit" — is Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya's notebook of the heart. It is not a treatise with chapters and arguments. It is the benefits he wrote down as he read, prayed, and watched his own soul: a paragraph on envy, a page on the excuses the soul makes, a single line that stops you where you stand.
Volume One gathers forty-seven of these sittings. Each one is short enough to hear in a single sitting, and heavy enough to stay with you for the rest of the day. Ibn al-Qayyim (d. 751 AH / 1350 CE) was the closest student of Ibn Taymiyya and one of the most loved writers on the purification of the soul.
On Joyful Muslims it is offered in two editions: the English Translation, and the Arabic original — with every Qurʾanic verse heard in the recitation of Shaykh Maḥmūd Khalīl al-Ḥuṣarī, never a synthetic voice.
Verified August 2026: we could not find any other complete English audiobook of al-Fawāʾid — not on Audible, not on podcast platforms, not anywhere else. If you want to hear this book in English, this is currently the only place.
