What are the virtues of Sūrat al-Fātiḥah?

"of the faithful, al-Mahdi, may Allah have mercy on him, marking the path of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, to Safa. There is also the smaller gate of Ajad, opening to two gates, the gate of Weavers, opening to two gates, the gate of al-Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, opening to three doors, the gate of the Prophet, may Allah's peace be upon him, opening to two doors, and the gate of Banu Shaibah, which is a corner of the eastern wall towards the north in front of the door of the noble Ka'bah, leaning slightly left, opening to three doors."

"This is based on the principles of the people regarding the distinction between the rulings of the self, heart, and soul. According to them, "the opening" is of two types: a heart opening and a soul opening. The heart opening gathers it upon اللّٰه and mends its disarray, while the soul opening enriches it from it and strips it of it. And with اللّٰه is success."

"There is no audible recitation. In the first standing of the first rak'ah, one reads Al-Fatiha and Surah Al-Baqarah; in the second, Al-Fatiha and Al Imran; in the third, Al-Fatiha and Surah Al-Nisa; and in the fourth, Al-Fatiha and Surah Al-Ma'idah, or as much as one wishes from the Qur'an. If one confines to Al-Fatiha in each standing, it suffices."

"peace be upon him, said: Whoever prays four rak'ahs on Monday night, reciting Al-Fatiha and "Qul Huwa Allahu Ahad" in the first rak'ah ten times, in the second rak'ah Al-Fatiha and "Qul Huwa Allahu Ahad" ten times, in the third rak'ah Al-Fatiha and "Qul Huwa Allahu Ahad" twenty times, in the fourth rak'ah Al-Fatiha and "Qul Huwa Allahu Ahad" thirty times, then concludes and recites "Qul Huwa Allahu Ahad" seventy-five times, and seeks forgiveness for himself and his parents seventy-five times, then asks Allah for his needs, it is a right upon Allah to give him his request as he asked."

"peace be upon him, that he said: Whoever prays two rak'ahs on Tuesday night, reciting in each rak'ah Al-Fatiha once and "Inna Anzalna" and "Qul Huwa Allahu Ahad" seven times, Allah will free his neck from the fire, and he will be his guide and leader to Paradise on the Day of Judgment. On Wednesday night, Fatima, may Allah be pleased with her, narrates from the Prophet, peace be upon him, that he said: Whoever prays two rak'ahs on Wednesday night, reciting in the first rak'ah Al-Fatiha and "Qul A'udhu bi-Rabbil-Falaq" ten times, and in the second after Al-Fatiha "Qul A'udhu bi-Rabbin-Naas" ten times..."

"As for the sitting for the first tashahhud, it is a customary action and was added solely for the tashahhud, so its omission is evidently influential. As for the opening supplication and the recitation of Al-Fatiha, their omission does not affect the prayer, as standing has become filled with Al-Fatiha and distinguished by it."

"Whoever's opening comes in seclusion will find his increase only there; and whoever's opening comes among people, in counseling and guiding them, will find his increase in their company. And whoever's opening lies in standing with what God wills for him — wherever He stations him and in whatever He employs him — will find his increase both in seclusion and among people. The noblest of states is that you choose for yourself no state but the one He chooses for you and establishes you in."
