Call upon Me — I will respond

"They said: In the collection of التِّرْمِذِيّ and others, it is narrated from the Prophet مُحَمَّد, peace be upon him, "Indeed, اللّٰه does not respond to the supplication from a heedless heart." This is either specific to the supplication of worship or general to both worship and request supplications, or specific to the request supplication, which is more distant."

O Allah, reliever of distress, remover of grief, answerer of the supplication of the desperate, merciful of this world and the hereafter, you are the one who has mercy on me, so bestow mercy upon me with a mercy that enriches me from the mercy of anyone else besides you."

"I never recall it without my vision and heart being veiled." Sa'd then said, "I will inform you of it. The Messenger of Allah mentioned to us the first supplication, then an Arab came and distracted him. Then the Messenger of Allah stood up, and I followed him.
